DeCocinis & DeFrancesco to Lead VTX
Mark DeCocinis, CEI, and Tony DeFrancesco, CEI, have assumed the roles of president and senior vice president, respectively, of Vertical Transportation Excellence (VTX), a division of global infrastructure and engineering firm Gannett Fleming.
DeCocinis will have responsibility for all aspects of VTX operations. He will continue to work, from the Philadelphia office, with the project teams in the eastern United States and all VTX area managers will report directly to him. He has more than 20 years of experience in the industry and works with notable clients such as Princeton University; the University of Pittsburgh; and Liberty Property Trust, which manages The Comcast Center and the Comcast Technology Center in Philadelphia. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Widener University and is a recipient of the Delaware Valley Engineers Senior Design Award for the Boeing Helicopters Project.
DeFrancesco, based in our Phoenix office, will continue to lead VTX efforts in the West and will also take on additional responsibility for growing VTX in the Midwest as well as portions of Canada. With more than 25 years of experience in the industry, DeFrancesco’s most noteworthy clients and award-winning projects include the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport PHX Sky Train®, the Los Angeles World Airports Vertical and Horizontal Conveyance Upgrade Program at LAX, and the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District Market Street Escalators Renovation Project. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Temple University and has a professional affiliation with the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities International.Founded in 2000, VTX focuses on design, construction, modernization, and maintenance of elevators, escalators, and moving walks.
